More About the Expedition

The Expedition is the final, formal adventure for Allen at the Canadian Rivers Institute, University of New Brunswick. It is an institute-funded initiative that closes the circle on his long research and teaching career in the aquatic sciences. World-class research and science highlighted Allen’s academic career, yet many of the most informative discoveries and advances emerged from meeting local experts and Elders who knew their waters best. Building on that theme, the Expedition is a connecting-the-dots project that travels to meet people on their home waters to listen and learn, discuss the science and Allen’s wide-ranging water experiences, and then connect these conversations, weaving them into a collective, water reconciliation message for everyone.
